Reflecting back on this year, I see a shift in my approach to recipe development and the top 10 recipes of 2025 reflect that shift. I know I am spending less time making and photographing recipes for dinner, which was for a very long time the only kind of recipe that I posted. Now I am spending more time posting snack and dessert recipes.
This shift is in no way because I am out of dinner ideas. I am still posting many dinner recipes and will continue to do so. Most of my available free time is in the afternoons right now so snacks and treats are easier to make and photograph in that time frame. Many of those recipes ended up in the most popular list of 2025 so I’d say readers are happy with this change!
These snacks and treats have continued to fall within the context of the blog theme, healthy eating. I find adding ingredients to snacks instead of subtracting them to be one of the best approaches. I also focus on whole grains for added nutrients.
There is one recipe in the list that was technically posted in 2024. It was my very last recipe of 2024 and was very popular this year, so I decided to include it in the recipe round up for this year because it clearly deserved a little credit. Perhaps I will be the only one to notice this detail, but full discloser just in case!
Finally I want to say thank you to all that read and make recipes from Alison’s Allspice. Readers make blogging possible so I would not be here without you. As always feel free to leave comments letting me know how a recipe turned out for you or what you are looking for next.
