Recipe type: Side Dish
Serves: 2 servings
Ingredients
  • 2 handfuls fresh green beans (washed and trimmed)
  • 2 TBS water
  • 1 large garlic clove, sliced
  • ½ TBS butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
Instructions
  1. Heat a large, heavy-bottomed skillet (I prefer cast iron) over medium high heat. Stir in green beans and water and cover with a lid. Keep the beans covered 3-5 minutes to allow them to steam in the water.
  2. Reduce heat to medium and remove the lid, there should be little to no water left in the skillet.
  3. Add the butter and garlic to the green beans and saute until garlic is golden and green beans are starting to blister, 2-3 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, serve.
