Ellen, I freeze my homemade beans in zip top bags, and lay them flat to freeze. This creates a thin layer of beans that will easily break apart when frozen. A quart size freezer bag works best, and I use 1 1/2 cups beans per bag.

I am now impressed when I saw you smack a package of frozen beans you cooked on the counter and pour out the ones you want.
My beans that I cooked and put in freezer packages are a solid mass. I have to use the whole package, or none.
What do you do? Do I need to dry them somehow?
Thank you,
Ellen
